Job Description:
Ability KC is seeking an Occupational Therapist for The
Children's Therapeutic Learning Center responisble for assessment
and treatment of daily living activities including self-care,
assistive devices, oral aversion and defensiveness. Address fine
motor skills including motor control, pre-writing, handwriting, and
bilateral intergration. Addresses visual skills including visual
perception, visual motor, eye-hand coordination, and occular
motility.Evaluates and treats sensory processing skills in the
areas of self-regulation,attention,body awareness, sensory
defensiveness and praxis. Family/primary caregiver training and
education. Collaborates with teaching staff and needs for
individual children. Functional supervision of support staff. Other
duties as assigned. Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in
Occupational Therapy from an accredited school. Experience: 2 years
experience with evidence of success in the evaluation and tratment
of young children with disabilities and/or developmental delays
preferred. Experience providing aquatic therapy preferred.
Proficiency in working with early intervention, early childhood,
and school-age populations. Additinoally we are also seeking a
Occupational Therapist for the Pediatrics & Adolescents services
for Ability KC which brings together Children's Therapeutic
Learning Center and the Rehabilitatin Institute of Kansas City,
with longstanding reputations of successfully serving thousands of
individuals with disabilities and their families through medical
reabiltation, therapeutic preschool and employment services.Under
general direction of the supervisor Occupational Therapist performs
patient care related tasks and functional supervision of support
staff. Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an
accredited school. Experience: No experience required. Experience
with pediatric patient swallowing treatment/care desired. Prior
hospital or neuro-rehab experience preferred. One year of pediatric
experience preferred if providing services to individuals birht to
